Super awesome, Super Smash!
The Undergraduate Library at the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) is once again sending a team of champions into the din of battle for the ALA's National Gaming Day Super Smash Brothers Brawl tournament!
Our in-house run-off will begin at 11 a.m. (CST). Four winners will be selected to participate in the ALA tournament at 2 p.m. (CST).
Hello Moderators and Players. National Gaming Day is quickly approaching and we will be pushing out improvements to the site in the coming weeks. Before that can get started, I am going to be updating some of the backend code here at GT System on Monday Morning, October 19. You may see an hour or so of downtime, but the site should come back up exactly as it was before. New features and fixes will follow soon.
On Saturday, November 15th from 11am until 6pm, the Undergraduate Library will be joining libraries across the country to host a gaming event as part of the American Library Association's National Gaming Day. UIUC students can play games from the Undergraduate Library collection, like Rock Band and Madden Football will be featured, as well as vintage consoles such as Atari 2600 and Sega Genesis. In addition, UIUC students can compete in a nation-wide Super Smash Brothers Tournament with prizes beginning at 11am. Student gaming groups will be on-site to discuss their activities and membership. For more information on this national event, go to http://www.library.uiuc.edu/gaming/events.html
What is GT System?
GT System is a framework and a set of web tools for producing videogame tournaments of any size for players of any age or experience level. It gives you everything you need to promote and run a videogame tournament at your institution, and it allows all GT system players to see where how they stack up on local, regional and national leaderboards!
